Today we're going to make bottle rockets! We will finish them off and launch them in the lesson on Thursday. Watch this
video from the BBC so you know what we're aiming for. There are also lots of tips on the BBC website to help you. Once you're ready, here are the steps for making one:
- Use a softdrink bottle, with the cap removed and the opening facing downwards (see picture below).
- Using card and paper, give your rocket fins and a nose cone so it flies striaght and will travel further.
- You can decorate your rocket if you like, but don't make it too heavy! This will decerase how far your rocket will fly.
- You don't need to add anything to hold the rocket on a track for launching, as we will use a tripod from class.
